Kauanoe Greene is a Mai ʻŌ A ʻŌ Native Hawaiian Student Fellow in Botany in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. Using an experimental approach, combined with trait-based analyses, her graduate research aims to bridge functional ecology with native ecosystem restoration through the characterization of intraspecific variation in tolerance to environmental stressors of drought, salinity, and fire of Native Hawaiian plants to inform on-going conservation strategies under climate change.
